Wanderlust sales, chart positioning!

Currently, as of last week Gavin's single "Love Remains the Same" is #35 on the modern rock chart, and it's peak on that chart is #33. It's been on the chart 6 weeks now.

On the MAIn hot 100 chart, which is what really generate sales, and radio, Gavin's song peaked at #108, it peaked at #85 on the pop chart which is good also

So, so far, Love Remains the same is a failure I would say. I love the song, but I really wish it would get some publicity. It's important to have a strong lead off single.

#108 in the country isn't that great, but it's okay.
#33 in rock songs is okay...

I think some of the other songs especially "The Trouble I'm In" could seriously push much harder on the charts.

Wanderlust isn't out on the sales chart yet.

I predict it to sell around 20,000 copies it's first week, which will put it somewhere around #55 for a debut which is good.

Expectations

I expected this to be honest.  'Love Remains the Same' is not the most radio friendly song on the album and for some reason, people have had it in for Gavin ever since his third BUSH album.  I wonder what happens if he sells around 50,000 again.

6/6/2008 8:10 PM (GMT-08:00)

?

I don't know.

I wish he would sell a ton, but what can you do?

He's got money, that's not a problem. It is more about pride I believe.

I think it's a good single, and there's plenty of songs high in the top 20 that are terrible.

We live in a hip-hop/rap world.

Very rarely does a rock song get in the top 10... rarely.

update

update,

billboard.com (offical) has reported that Wanderlust has sold 15k copies even.

Gavin has debuted at #32 on the Billboard 200.

(I already had a thread for sales, so lets keep it here)

Nice debut I think. Institute debuted at #81 on the chart, so #32 is better, also add that the Wanderlust debut only sold 3k more copies, yet it's 49 places higher, that shows the slim album sales.

Lets support Gavin more and more guys!!

I wouldn't count out "Love Remains the Same" just yet. The newest numbers on the single for the week of June 21st:

Pop 100 - 60 (2nd week - new peak)
Modern Rock - 37 (7th week - peak 33)
Hot 100 - 76 (first entry)
Hot Digital Songs - 54 (first entry)
Adult Top 40 - 17 (7th week - new peak)

I'd have to disagree with goldensuitcase, I think that "Love Remains the Same" is very radio friendy. It may not be a huge hit on Rock radio, but I definitely think it has potential on Pop and Adult Top 40. I think "The Trouble I'm In" would be an awesome single for Rock radio though!

Wanderlust sales, chart positioning!

Wow,those are really good stats-thanks for posting! I totally agree that LRTS still has much potential on AC and HOT AC radio-we just need to keep requesting it.

Man! You beat me to it, been off the net for awhile.

Yeah I'm so so so glad Gavin's single got to #76 on the hot 100, that's the chart that truly matters of all of them, that one, the digital chart then the pop 100. Looks like he's starting to climb up the charts guys, which is good good news!!!

He also debuted at #33 on the album chart (Top 200)

6/16/2008 6:14 PM (GMT-08:00)

Surprise Surprise

It's already out of the top 50.  I'm inclined to beleve that this album sells maybe even less than the INSTITUTE record.  Maybe a little more.  But definitely won't reach 100,000.  Poor Gavin.  I mean, Disturbed dropped two spots after selling 250,000 albums last week.  I mean, that's disgusting..

6/16/2008 6:28 PM (GMT-08:00)

nah

No, this album will sell more than institute, I don't know about 100k cause that would be like 1X platium 15 years ago now adays...

It will sell more than 57k

The single is Gavin's biggest hit since "The Chemicals BEtween Us" hit #67 in 99'

Awesome.

6/19/2008 5:12 PM (GMT-08:00)

update!

According to Billboard.com

Wanderlust fell from #33 (debut) to #116 this week.

That sucks. The singles charts have no been updated yet, so I can't say whether the single moved up, I expect it to move up to 60 or 50 on the hot 100 chart (main chart).

His sales will pick back up. He's done better the first 2 weeks with WL, than he did with DY.

So that's good I guess.

6/19/2008 6:01 PM (GMT-08:00)

Not good sales-wise

To go from #33 to #116 is not good at all.  That basically means the album sold anything and the fact that the single has been out for a good amount of time, I'm guessing he's going to need another single sometime soon to try and push this album.  He can't just sit and hope for it to sell more because I just don't think it will.  If I was him, I'd release two more singles back-to-back sort of to show this album off.

6/19/2008 6:42 PM (GMT-08:00)

me too

I agree with you all the way, as I mostly do in general.

The single is doing good, I would release another one in about 2 more weeks or so. I would release "Forever May You Run" or "The Trouble I'm In". THose are the best possible choices.

If he releases "Frontline" like I think he might, i don't see the album sales going up anymore. They might, it's a decent song and may catch on. That "Paraylyzer" song by Finger 11 sucks badly IMO, but it did very well.

I really don't want this to be DY part #II. Gavin deserves to be heard, and recognized!

"Love Remains the Same" Billboard Single Charts (June 28th):

Even though "Love Remains the Same" slipped on most charts, at least it finally appeared on the Pop 100 Airplay. It's nice to see that some radio stations are actually playing the song. Still can't get anyone to play it here in Pittsburgh. This single is definitely a great Adult Top 40 track though. Getting the video onto VH1's Top 20 countdown would be great exposure for Gav's album.

6/20/2008 6:40 PM (GMT-08:00)

not bad

That's not a bad drop on the singles chart, considering that everyone in American wants to put a cd out now... or a single lol

It will move up, I have faith.
