Good Causes Thread

Since Gavin is so charitable and in the wake of the devastating tragedy in Haiti where there are many ways to help the victims rebuild their lives, just thought it might be a good idea to start a thread where we could post links to charitable organizations that help people or animals in some way to help spread the word about these organizations.

Ways to keep informed and help out Haiti via Twitter here: http://www.hope140.org

Linkin Park, Dave Matthews Band, Slash and a whole lot of talented folks want you to help out the people of Haiti, and all you have to do is download exclusive music you would want to buy even if it wasn't for a good cause! Head in to listen to the tracks and find out how you can help.

Download to Donate for Haiti features previously unreleased tracks graciously donated by Alanis Morissette, The All-American Rejects, Dave Matthews Band, Enrique Iglesias, Hoobastank, Kenna, Linkin Park, Lupe Fiasco, Peter Gabriel, and guitar legend, Slash.

"We're encouraging people to give what they can," Slash says. "There's no right or wrong amount. The people of Haiti are in desperate need of food, fresh water, shelter and medical supplies and every little bit helps."

Get a free stack of pancakes at your local IHOP on Feb.23 and help out the Children's Miracle Network:

Since beginning its National Pancake Day celebration in 2006, IHOP has raised more than $3.25 million to support charities in the communities in which it operates. While IHOP's National Pancake Day typically takes place on Shrove Tuesday, this year the company will host its free pancake event on Tuesday, February 23, extending the fundraising window by one week to maximize donations for Children's Miracle Network. With your help, we hope to raise $5 million in five years for Children's Miracle Network and other local charities through your donations in 2010!
